PHILADELPHIA – The Thomas Jefferson University baseball team dominated its CACC doubleheader with Post on Saturday, picking up a pair of victories over the Eagles. The Rams sit at 16-7 on the year with a 13-4 conference mark.
GAME ONE – W, 9-1
The game was scoreless until the third when Jefferson took a 1-0 lead on a squeeze bunt by
Richard Joa. The Rams upped the advantage to three in the fourth.
Arturo Figueroa knocked in a run with a bunt base hit and
Alex Gonzalez hit an RBI single.
Post broke through for a run in the fifth on an RBI single. However, Jefferson pulled away with five runs in the bottom half.
Ryan Sawyer smacked an RBI triple,
Efrain Santiago drove in Sawyer with a single, and Figueroa blasted a three-run homer. The Rams' final run came in the sixth on a double by Santiago.
Jack Galligan earned the win for Jefferson, tossing six innings of one-run ball, allowing five hits with one walk and nine strikeouts. He moved to 5-0 on the season.

The Rams did even better offensively in the nightcap, pounding out 17 runs and 16 hits. They scored five in the first, highlighted by a three-run double by
Arturo Figueroa. The Eagles got within one with a four-run fourth.
Zack Austin led off the bottom of the frame with a solo homer and
Ryan Coyle later added an RBI single for a 7-4 Jefferson advantage.
The Rams broke it open in the fifth, putting up eight runs in the inning.
Joe Cencetti highlighted the frame with his first career home run, a two-run shot that closed the scoring in the stanza and made it 15-4. Jefferson added two more runs in the sixth for the final score.
