CALDWELL, N.J. - The Thomas Jefferson University baseball team split a twin bill with CACC opponent Caldwell on Saturday. The Rams hold a 19-10 record with a 16-7 conference mark.
 
GAME ONE - L, 4-1
The Cougars began the scoring in the second inning, driving in a run with a single. Jefferson evened the score in the third when Ryan Sawyer knocked in Ryan Coyle with a base hit. However, Caldwell struck for three runs in the bottom half to regain the lead. The Cougars registered an RBI double and a two-run homer. The Rams were able to get just two runners into scoring position over the last four innings and could not push across another run.

GAME TWO - W, 9-4
Jefferson jumped in front early with a three-run opening frame. Richard Joa hit an RBI single and Joe Cencetti drove in two with a base hit. Caldwell cut the deficit to one with a two-run single in the bottom half.
 
In the second, Arturo Figueroa came home on an error to make it a 4-2 Rams lead. They upped the margin to four (6-2) in the third. Zack Austin and Figueroa both had a run-scoring single. The Cougars' two-run base knock in the fifth made it a 6-4 game.
 
Jefferson added insurance in the sixth with three runs. Austin scored on a fielder's choice and Ryan Coyle doubled in a pair. After coming out of the bullpen in a two-run game in the fifth, Anthony Pillari recorded the final seven outs to pick up the save.
