NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Thomas Jefferson University baseball standout
Jem Sisco on Monday was named the 2021-22 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. The nominating and voting for the award was conducted by the league's athletic communications directors. In addition to earning the award, Sisco will now move on for regional and national consideration for the 2021-22 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2 CCA) Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award, which will be announced later this summer by the organization.
Sisco started 10 games on the mound this season and compiled a 4-2 record with a 1.96 earned run average to earn a spot on the All-CACC First Team. He helped the Rams knock off second-seeded Goldey-Beacom College in the first round of the 2022 CACC Baseball Championship to earn a spot in the double-elimination portion of the tournament. The senior from Southampton, N.Y., sports a cumulative 3.84 grade point average in his major of finance.
To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be a starter or key reserve with legitimate athletic credentials, while also posting a minimum 3.20 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale. The nominee must also be at least a sophomore both athletically and academically, and must have completed at least one full academic year at their current institution.
