Simonetti Announced for Induction into CACC Hall of Fame

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference on Thursday announced the five members of the CACC Hall of Fame Class of 2023. The official announcement was made on Thursday by CACC Commissioner Dan Mara.

The Class of '23 consists of four individuals and a team, including former Ram Sarah Simonetti who is the second Jefferson athlete CACC Hall of Fame. She is also the second CACC Hall of Fame selection in women's cross country. The CACC Hall of Fame was established in 2015 to honor the legendary individuals and teams in league history.

Simonetti was one of the most decorated athletes, ever, in CACC history, regardless of sport. She was a two-time CACC individual champion in women's cross country in 2010 and 2011, and was named the CACC Runner of the Year both times as well. She was the first women's runner in conference history to make the NCAA National Championship race twice. Simonetti won several other conference awards, including the 2008 CACC Rookie of the Year and earning all-conference status on four separate occasions. She is the CACC Championship record holder at Belmont Plateau with a top 5k time of 18:43.21. Simonetti's success wasn't limited to the race course, as in the classroom she was a three-time USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honoree and was placed on the CACC and Philadelphia Inquirer All-Academic Teams.

The CACC Hall of Fame of 2023 also includes Keith Davie (Nyack College/Alliance University Director of Athletics/Head Men's Soccer Coach), Brian Tonkovich (Caldwell University Men's Basketball Student-Athlete), Katie Warrington (Wilmington University Softball Student-Athlete), and the 2010-11 Bloomfield College Men's Basketball Team. Each of the honorees will be recognized with an official hall of fame induction ceremony at either of their respective campus or CACC Championship event during the 2023-24 season.
