WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Thomas Jefferson University softball team (1-3) suffered a pair of losses at West Chester (5-4) on Saturday.
GAME ONE – L, 8-0 (5 inn.)
The opener remained scoreless until the fourth inning when the Golden Rams put up three runs. West Chester produced an RBI single and scored twice on a pair of errors. The home team ended the game early due to the eight-run rule with a five-run fifth. The Golden Rams had a two-run double, scored on a passed ball, and clinched the win with a two-run homer. Jefferson was held without a hit in the contest.
GAME TWO – L, 7-0
West Chester posted four runs in the second via a three-run home run and an RBI single. The Golden Rams made it 5-0 in the third on a sacrifice fly. The home squad closed the scoring with a two-run fourth. WCU scored on a sacrifice bunt and an RBI single. The Rams' best chance to score was in the opening frame when they had a runner at third with no outs. However, the runner was erased on a fielder's choice and the next two batters were retired.
