NEW CASTLE, Del. – The Thomas Jefferson University softball team (9-13, 4-6 CACC) suffered a pair of CACC defeats at Wilmington (21-9, 11-1 CACC) on Tuesday.
GAME ONE – L, 10-5
The Wildcats built a 7-0 lead with one run each in the first, second, and third innings, and four runs in the fourth. The Rams got on the board in the sixth, pushing across three runs.
Victoria Juckniewitz scored on a fielder's choice,
Anna Akelaitis came home on an error, and
Kayla Cavanaugh scored on another fielder's choice.
Wilmington tacked on three more runs in the bottom of the sixth before Jefferson tallied its last two in the seventh.
Emily Akelaitis hit an RBI double to left center and
Winnai Hoyt drove in a run with a single.

GAME TWO – L, 8-1
The Wildcats got out to an early lead once again, scoring twice in the first and four times in the third to take a 6-0 advantage.
Annalise Pudimott hit an RBI single to left for the Rams' lone run in the fourth. Wilmington added two more in the bottom of the fourth for the final margin. Jefferson was foiled by eight runners left on base.
