Baseball Suffers Defeat at Wilmington, Playoff Seeding Determined

NEW CASTLE, Del. – The Thomas Jefferson University baseball team (25-19, 14-8 CACC) dropped a CACC game at Wilmington (26-18, 17-5 CACC) on Tuesday, 11-5.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Wildcats took an early 3-0 lead in the first inning. With two outs, the home squad blasted a pair of homers, one being a two-run shot. The Rams came back with two runs in the second on Diego Santiago's two-out, two-run double to right.

Wilmington upped its advantage to five with a four-run third. The first three Wildcats reached base to load them up before a sacrifice fly and a three-run home run quickly made it 7-2. Wilmington broke the game open with a grand slam in the fourth.

Jefferson managed three runs in the sixth on RBI hits by Marquise Wood and Chris McLean as well as a Gabe Silva sacrifice fly but could not threaten the Wildcats down the stretch.
