Baseball Routs Bloomfield in Doubleheader; Scores 35 Runs in Game Two
 
PHILADELPHIA – Thomas Jefferson University baseball team (12-9, 3-3) faced off against Bloomfield College of Montclair State University (0-2, 0-2) in Tuesday afternoon action. The Rams rolled over the Bears in both games as they won 22-0 in game one and set a benchmark of 30+ runs in a game as they took game two 35-0.
 
WHAT HAPPENED
GAME ONE: W, 22-0

Rams wasted little time scoring against the Bears with 10 runs in the first inning for Jefferson. Chris McLean delivered a triple for the first score of the game. Josh Lopez brought the second run with a sacrifice fly. The Bears error allowed Jo. Lopez and Marquise Wood to homeplate for a 4-0 lead. Matt Vita bunt single added another score while Justin Egner hit forced another Bloomfield error and two more runs. McLean put up another triple on the board with Jo. Lopez ending the first with a single up the middle for the 10th score.
 
McLean began the eight-run attack for Jefferson in the third inning with a homerun to left field. Another error for Bloomfield, the third of seven on the day, got another runner to homeplate for Jefferson. Gabe Silva sacrifice fly to right field got Joshua Lopez to homeplate. Justin Espinal hit a homer to center field and McLean's triple brought three more runs in for Jefferson. Jo. Lopez hit the ball to centerfield, who made an error that got McLean a run and made it 18-0 in the third.
 
Jefferson concluded their attack in the fourth with four runs. A wild pitch got Joshu. Lopez a run. Vita bunt forced another Bears' error and brought another run. Vita got to homeplate with another Bloomfield wild pitch, and a fielder's choice on a Jo. Lopez hit brought Jay Kalieta home and secured the 22-0 lead. Silva pitched 5.0 innings for Jefferson, having a career-high 12 strikeouts (beating his 11 this season against Lincoln) as he earned the win for Jefferson.

Jefferson brought their momentum into the second game, scoring 35 runs in four innings. They put up five runs in the first from a Joshu. Lopez three-run homerun, Espinal triple, and Vita double to go up 5-0 after the first inning. McLean hit a two-run homerun down the left line in the second inning. Joshu. Lopez capped that off with a single to right field, bringing Marquise Wood home and having it at 8-0 after two innings.
 
Jefferson then put up 16 runs in the third, the most they have this season in a single inning. The Rams scored on eight wild pitches and a pass ball, plus two errors, a walk, a fielder's choice, and a Jo. Lopez homerun to put themselves up 23-0.
 
The fourth inning went similarly, as Jefferson had 11 runs in that inning. A walk with Nico Quiroz started it off, with a single to the left side by Will Woodring getting two runs on the board. Alex Gonzalez hit a single to the left field for another Rams' score. Andrew Gonzalez reached on an error, giving two Rams an opportunity to score. Isaac Sherrill triple brought two more runners in while Roman Reed double made it 33-0. Lou Spadafora ended the day the same way the Rams started it, with a homerun to left field as they secured a 35-0 victory.
