Men's Tennis Concludes Season in NCAA Championships, Falling to Valdosta State
ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FLA. – Thomas Jefferson University men's tennis (18-6) finished their trip at the NCAA Championships where they fell to Valdosta State University (23-3) 4-0 in the Round of 16 at the NCAA Division II Championships at Sanlando Park. The Rams were the 15th seed while Valdosta State was the second seed in the tournament.
WHAT HAPPENED
The Blazers, who are ranked No. 3 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings, took the second and third position doubles matches to go up 1-0 in the contest. Valdosta State won the second singles position match by retirement while taking the sixth and third spots, earning the match victory over Jefferson. The Rams conclude their season with a 18-6 record, ranked No. 42 in the ITA rankings, and making the Round of 16 for the second consecutive season.
