Jefferson Earns NCAA Presidents' Award for Academic Excellence for 11th Straight Year

INDIANAPOLIS, IN. –Thomas Jefferson University was one of 43 Division II schools to earn the NCAA Presidents' Award for Academic Excellence, the organization announced this week. Jefferson claime the honor 11 years in a row, earning Presidents' Award recognition for the 14th time in school history.

Jefferson had a Academic Success Rate of 94%, (2015-2018), achieving an ASR of 90% or higher for the 18th time.

The Presidents' Award is given to schools that achieve a four-year ASR of 90 percent or higher. It is the 15th year of the program. The ASR is the percentage of student-athletes who graduate within six years of initial collegiate enrollment and includes virtually all Division II student-athletes, including transfers and those not receiving athletic scholarships.

The NCAA and the federal government measure time to graduate within a six-year window of first-time enrollment. Thus, the graduation rates for the 2015-2018 cohorts would have been reported from 2022 to 2025.

Emmanuel (Georgia) was the top performer, earning an ASR of 100%, followed by Hillsdale with an ASR of 99%. Bentley and Rollins each earned an ASR of 98%, and Augustana (South Dakota) rounded out the top five with an ASR of 96%.

The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) had four institutions earn a 90% score or higher, with Chestnut Hill College, Holy Family University, and the University of Bridgeport joining the Rams. Jefferson had the highest ASR between the CACC schools. The Northeast-10 Conference led the group with seven institutions on the list.
