PHILADELPHIA – Thomas Jefferson University baseball (11-13, 10-7) took on Wilmington University (22-9, 14-3) in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader. The Rams fell in both contests to the Wildcats. 

WHAT HAPPENED 
GAME ONE: L, 7-6 

  • Jefferson put up four runs to begin the contest, holding a 4-0 early lead. Wilmington countered with four runs of their own in the second inning 

  • After three scoreless outings by both teams, the Wildcats got the lead in the third with three runs 

  • Jefferson added two more in the eighth inning but were not able to even the game out, falling in game one 7-6

  • The Rams were down early in the second game as Wilmington had two homeruns that got them up 2-0. Jefferson got a run from a Luis Beato Mora triple 

  • The Wildcats had four runs in the third and another in the fifth to earn a 7-1 lead 

  • Justin Egner got three runs for the Rams in two different innings. He had a solo homerun in the fifth and a two-run double in the sixth for Jefferson to trail by three 

  • The Rams were unable to capitalize on a comeback and fell in game two to Wilmington
