Five CACC Titles; Four School Records Broken with Women's Track & Field Third Place Finish
 
LAKEWOOD, N.J. – Thomas Jefferson University women's track and field competed in the CACC Championships on Friday and Saturday. The Rams had five Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) titles won with nine All-Conference honorees, four school records broken as well as four CACC Championship event records. That lead the Rams to a third place finish in the CACC Championships.
 
WHAT HAPPENED
  • The Rams recorded 128 points, only being one point shy of second place to Goldey-Beacom College
  • Olivia Grahn won two events alongside Annalee Capuano. Grahn took first in the 3000 meter steeplechase and 5000 meters while Capuano took home her fourth straight 1500 meter title as well as winning her first 800 meter race. Grahn set CACC Championship event records in both her events while Capuano broke her own in the 1500 meter
  • Milana Daiute set a championship event record as she won the 10000 meter race, earning a sub 40 time during the race, the first for the event in the CACC Championships
  • Grahn, Capuano, and Daiute all earned All-CACC First Team honors for winning their events
  • Natalie McFadden and Isabella Gitto received All-CACC Second Team recognition as they placed second during the day. Gitto made Second Team in the 800 meter race while McFadden garnered three from the 3000 meter steeplechase, 1500 meters, and 5000 meters
  • Colleen Chojnacki and Gianna Garozzo set school records during the day as well. Chojnacki broke the school mark for the 400 meters with a 1:00.10 while Garozzo beat her own time in the 400 meter hurdles with a 1:05.10
  • Both Garozzo and Chojnacki went and broke their own group school record in the 4x100 and 4x400 race. Both Rams, alongside Nina Ceccanecchio and Sydney Huynh, set the school record with a 51.69 time in the 4x100. Garozzo, Chojnacki, Ceccanecchio, and Gitto followed it up with a new milestone in the 4x400 as they ran a 4:09.91
  • The third place finish was the highest the team has had in the CACC Championships
