Schaefer enters his third year as the Rams' head coach going into the 2025 season. Schaefer was hired as the headl coach in August 2024.
Schaefer had the Rams go 15-18, finishing third in the CACC South in his first year. The Rams won their postseason match over Bridgeport and advanced to the CACC Semifinals. He saw three players earn All-CACC honors during the year with Morgan Ritchie being on the First Team while Caroline Bond and Cameron Johnson secured All-Second Team honors.
Jefferson went 12-13 under Schaefer's second season, making the CACC Tournament as the fourth seed in the South. He had two Rams make the All-CACC Team, with Emily McKenna being selected on the Second Team while Kate Hines earned Third Team honors.
Schaefer has coached five All-Conference players along with 13 CACC All-Academic athletes. He has eight Rams named to the CSC Academic All-District Team.
Schaefer joined the Rams after spending one season as an assistant coach for Swarthmore College, where he helped the Garnet make the Centennial Conference Tournament.
He enters the head coaching position with 16 years of experience from Cabrini University. Schaefer holds a 331-149 record for the Cavaliers, earning nine conference championships and making every NCAA Tournament for Cabrini in school history. He has coached six AVCA All-Americans and 14 conference yearly award winners as well. Schaefer earned 4 CSAC Coach of the Year awards, one AEC Coach of the Year, and one AEC Coaching Staff of the Year award during his time with the Cavaliers.
Schaefer earned a bachelor’s degree in education from East Stroudsburg University in 1996 and received his master’s degree in education from Wilkes University in 2005.
Schaefer resides in Havertown, PA. He has three children.
