SEWELL, N.J. – Junior Taylor Falvey (York, Pa./York Catholic) and sophomore Alyssa Litty (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) recorded top-five finishes to help the Philadelphia University women's cross country team take second at the Collegiate Track Conference Championship at Gloucester County College.
In the eight-team event, Philadelphia had a team total of 60 points, 36 behind event winner Rowan.
Falvey had the fourth-best 6-kilometer time on Saturday after she crossed the finish line in 23 minutes, 09 seconds. Litty was six seconds back of Falvey with a 23:15 to grab the fifth spot.
Senior Chelsea Attaway (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) ended the race in 23:49 to come in 14th place. Freshman Kaitlyn Beckham (Gettysburg, Pa./Fairfield Area) had the 18th-place time of 24:11. The final scoring position went to sophomore Emilie Barton (Sterling, Ill./Newman Catholic Central) as she completed the course in the 22nd-place time of 24:23.
Sophomore Courtney Lafferty (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Athena) edged out freshman Jessica Thies (Reading, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) for the 29th position. Lafferty earned the 29th spot with a time of 25:03, while Thies turned in the 30th-place time of 25:05.
Freshman Victoria Frisbie (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) came in 38th with a time of 26:01.
Sophomore Stephanie Watson (Newport, Vt./North Country Union) (50th, 27:07), sophomore Clarissa Kelsey (Columbus, N.J./Northern Burlington) (54th, 27:43), and junior Meghan Ford (Leonia, N.J./Leonia) (61st, 28:34) completed Philadelphia's lineup.
Rowan's Megan Borz had the race-winning time of 22:17.
Philadelphia will compete for its sixth consecutive Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference title at the CACC Championship on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 11 a.m. at Belmont Plateau.
