Box Score PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia University women's soccer team was defeated by visiting Felician 1-0 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match Saturday afternoon on Ravenhill Field.
Philadelphia is now 10-5-1 overall, 9-2-0 in the CACC, while Felician improves to 10-3-3 overall, 7-2-2 in conference play.
Prior to the start of the match, the women's soccer team honored its five senior players: Hannah Palese (Haddon Heights, N.J./Haddon Heights), Cristina Nasti (Verona, N.J./Montclair Kimberley Academy), Meagan Yates (Limerick, Pa./Spring-Ford), Amanda Schuhl (Mullica Hill, N.J./Gloucester Catholic), and Michaela Van Antwerp (Andover, Mass./Andover).
The Rams controlled play in the early stages of the match, attempting seven shots in the opening half hour.
In the 35th minute, the Golden Falcons' Katina Kozlowski scored on the team's first shot of the match. Kozlowski chipped the ball over the Rams defense and into the goal from 13 yards out on the right side of the penalty area. It was fourth goal of the year.
Philadelphia ended up attempting 13 shots in the match, but couldn't push one by Felician keeper Julia Sheridan—who made two saves in the win.
The Rams' Courtney Shaw (Langhorne, Pa./Villa Joseph Marie) stopped one shot.
Philadelphia heads to Bridgeport for a non-conference match on Monday, Oct. 27 at 6 p.m.
