Box Score

PHILADELPHIA – Nicole Raab (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) and Sarah VanBuskirk (Fanwood, N.J./Scotch Plains-Fanwood) scored in the opening 15 minutes of the Philadelphia University women's soccer team's 2-0 victory over Wilmington (Del.) in the quarterfinal round of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament Monday afternoon on Ravenhill Field.

Philadelphia—the tournament's top seed—improves to 12-6-1 overall and advances to semifinal round of the CACC Tournament for the fourth straight year. The Rams will face fifth seed Felician, a 2-0 winner over Caldwell, in a semifinal on Thursday, Nov. 6 at Municipal Stadium in Waterbury, Conn.  Match time is noon.

Wilmington ends its season at 6-12-0.

Raab needed 64 seconds to get the Rams on the board with her first goal of the year. Patrice Maro (Westmont, N.J./Haddon Twp.) took a corner kick and found the head of Morgan Graus (Rochester, N.Y./Hilton) at the left post. Graus headed the ball across the goal to Raab, who volleyed the ball into the net.

Thirteen minutes later, VanBuskirk leaped and got her right foot on a Meagan Yates (Limerick, Pa./Spring-Ford) crossing pass. VanBuskirk's shot snuck under the crossbar to double the Philadelphia advantage. It was her first goal of the year.

The Rams defense stymied the Wildcat offense, not allowing Wilmington a single shot attempt during the course of the match.

Philadelphia attempted 19 shots, getting eight on target. The Wildcats' Julia Brown recorded six saves.
