Box Score

WATERBURY, Conn. – The Philadelphia University women's soccer team was shutout by Post, 1-0, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles' (1-3, 1-0 CACC) Katharina Mertz scored with 1:05 left before halftime after receiving a cross from Lexxi Carroll. The goal was Mertz's second of 2015.

After being held without a shot on goal in the opening half, Philadelphia (1-2, 0-2 CACC) turned up the pressure in the second half. The Rams were awarded six corner kicks and got four shots on target, but couldn't get anything past Eagle keeper Laura Morgan.

In her first career start, Philadelphia keeper Erin Tinneny (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) recorded three saves, all in the first half.

Post owned a 9-7 shot advantage, while the shots on goal were even at four.

Philadelphia returns home on Sunday, Sept. 13 to face the University of Bridgeport in a non-conference match at 1 p.m.
