Jefferson Athletics Announces Hall of Fame Class of 2025

PHILADELPHIA – Thomas Jefferson University will induct four individuals and one team into the Jefferson Athletic Hall of Fame in 2025. The 23rd induction class will be enshrined in an on-campus ceremony on Saturday, September 27th.

The Class of 2025 includes

Libby Ritter (Nichols)
A four-year member of the Rams women's lacrosse team, Ritter is one of the finest all-around student-athletes in conference history. On the lacrosse field, she was a 2014 IWLCA All-American and the CACC Player of the Year while leading the Rams to the conference championship. She ranked third in the NCAA in draw controls per game and fifth in caused turnovers per game. Ritter was named a CoSIDA First-Team Academic All-American and was the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Overall Female Performer of the Year in 2014. She concluded her career as a Ram with 91 goals, 31 assists, 122 points, 125 ground balls, 189 draw controls, and 90 caused turnovers. She was inducted into the CACC Hall of Fame in 2022. Nichols graduated from Jefferson in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree.

Sarah Simonetti
A two-time CACC Runner of the Year, Simonetti holds the school records in the 5k and 6k race with a 18:43 and a 22:03 time respectively. Her 5k time is still the record in the CACC Championship race to this date. She was a four-time All-CACC Top-15 runner, four-time NCAA All-East Region honoree, and the only runner in school and conference history to make the NCAA Cross Country Championships. Simonetti's success wasn't limited to the race course, as in the classroom she was a three-time USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honoree and was placed on the CACC and Philadelphia Inquirer All-Academic Teams. Her accomplishments earned an induction into the CACC Hall of Fame in 2023. She graduated in Fall of 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree.

Morenz Rasdell
A 1990 Fall graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree, Rasdell is still the school's only five time All-American. He made the NCAA Championships for Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field on multiple occasions, racing against the best athletes in the nation. Rasdell has finishes of 6th place (1:51.51) in 1988 NCAA Outdoor, 6th place (1:52.86) in 1989 NCAA Outdoor, 3rd place (1:54.06) in 1990 NCAA Indoor, and 7th (1:51.03) in 1990 NCAA Outdoor – all in the 800-meter race. Rasdell still currently holds the school record for the 800-meter race (1:50.11), 4x800 meter relay (3:16.23), and Distance Medley (9:56.11).

Christopher Williams
Williams was a four-year starter, finishing his collegiate career with 2 goals and 5 assists. He earned All-League First Team honors in both 2004 and 2005 and received seven All-Star honors during those seasons. Williams continued his soccer career professionally, playing for the New York Red Bulls, Philadelphia KiXX, Miami FC, and Thisted FC before joining Da Nang FC of Vietnam's V-League in 2010. In 2012, he played for several teams before joining the Harrisburg Heat that fall, where he tallied 10 goals and 4 assists and earned Co-MVP honors. He later joined the Baltimore Blast and helped the team win the Indoor Soccer League championship, assisting on the game-winning goal. After brief stints with other teams and a short hiatus, he ended his professional career with the PA Roar, where he served as team captain and ranked second in the league in blocked shots. He was inducted into the Southeastern Pennsylvania Soccer Hall of Fame in May 2024. Williams graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree.

2014 Women's Lacrosse
The 2014 women's lacrosse team was the best in program history, finishing with a 17-1 record. Jefferson went on a 17-game winning streak—a program record that still stands. Their only loss came in the season opener against eventual national champion Adelphi University. The Rams went 11-0 in conference play and won the CACC Championship. The team boasted six CACC All-Conference players (three First Team, two Second Team, one Honorable Mention), the CACC Player of the Year (Libby Nichols), and the CACC Coach of the Year (George Chis-Luca). Nichols and Melissa Styer were named to the IWLCA Senior All-Star Game while earning NCAA All-Region honors, the first in program history. The roster also included eight CACC All-Academic honorees, as well as the 2013-14 CACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year (Libby Nichols). The Rams ranked first in the nation in scoring offense (17.56), third in winning percentage (.944), fourth in draw controls (16.00), fifth in scoring margin (4.50), and ninth in ground balls per game (24.72) during their championship season.
