Philadelphia, PA- The
Philadelphia University volleyball team (18-11, 13-3 CACC) battled
to a 3-1 win over the visiting Holy Family University Lady Tigers
(21-13, 12-4 CACC) in a big conference match on Tuesday
night. The win gives PhilaU a split with HFU in the regular
season, as the Lady Tigers won 3-1 at home in mid-October.
Set scores were: 25-19, 23-25, 25-20 and 25-23.
Senior Katie Miller (Elkton, MD/ Rising Sun)
gave the Lady Rams the lift they needed, with a team-high 13 kills
and nine digs. Fellow senior Molly Malone
(Rochester, NY/ Gates Chili) seemed to have an answer in tight
spots for PhilaU as she contributed four kills and three digs.
Junior Celena Rendon (San Antonio, TX/ Tom C.
Clark) added seven kills and seven service aces, along with 12
digs.
Freshman setter Adrienne Stigura (Reading, PA/
Reading Central Catholic) had 16 assists and 10 digs for the Lady
Rams.
PhilaU hosts their final regular season home match on Thursday
(11/6) at 7 p.m. vs. Wilmington.
