Dunn (Harrisburg, PA/ Central Dauphin) led all scorers
with 32 points as the Philadelphia University Rams (6-2, 2-0 CACC)
rolled to a 82-73 win over Pace University (4-4) on Monday
evening. Dunn added five rebounds to his PhilaU performance.
The Rams led by as many as eight in the first half, but Pace's
Adrian Mills hit a three at 8:56 to cut the PhilaU lead to
22-20. Mills finished with a team-high 22 points.
PhilaU's Dunn responded with a trey of his own on the next play,
one of 10 he would make on the night.
The Rams kept one step ahead of the Setters until 1:06 remaining
in the first stanza, when Pace's Carlos Howard nailed a three to
tie it at 32-32 going into the break.
The second half started with a trey by Dunn, then another by
junior guard Russell Frederick (Baltimore, MD/
Calvert Hall) to go up 35-32. Frederick finished with 10
points and four boards.
PhilaU surged ahead on a 12-0 run over the next two and a half
minutes to lead 51-39, including three treys by Dunn. The Rams shot
48% from beyond the arc for the game.
The Setters would threaten within six points with a layup by
Mills at 8:36, but that would be as close as they could get.
A dunk by junior forward Mike Yocum (Drescher, PA/
Episcopal Academy) was the highlight of an 8-0 rally by the
Rams. Yocum finished with 18 points and 14 rebounds.
The Rams went 4-5 at the charity stripe in the last minute to
seal the 82-73 victory, including junior forward Malcolm
Ingram (Philadelphia, PA/ Solebury Prep) who had 16
points, seven rebounds and six assists on the evening.
The maroon and gray return to action on Tuesday, December
30th vs. Millersville at 3 p.m. for their first home
match-up in 41 days.
