Senior Maddie Smith continued to build on her record-breaking
career on Thursday afternoon, picking up a pair of wins in helping
Philadelphia University to a 5-4 victory over
Moravian College. The win moves the Lady Rams to 16-5 overall
on the season with two regular-season contests remaining.
With her two victories against the Greyhounds, Smith now has 139
career combined victories, the most in school history. Smith
also continues to set a new single-season record for combined
wins with every victory this spring and now has 42 for the
year. Againt Moravian, Smith registered a 6-0, 6-2 triumph at
#1 singles while joining up with freshman Adriana Rodriguez
(pictured) for an 8-1 win at #2 doubles. Rodriguez also
registered a pair of victories on the day and now has 41 combined
wins for the season -- one shy of Smith's current record-setting
total.
The Lady Rams will be back in action on Saturday, April 19th,
hosting Queens College on the Main Campus Courts.
