Frederick (Baltimore, MD/ Calvert Hall) led all scorers
with 29 points and six rebounds in leading the Philadelphia
University Rams (14-3, 7-0 CACC) to a 76-57 CACC win over the Holy
Family Tigers (4-14, 3-4 CACC) on Saturday afternoon. Frederick's
six three-pointers set a new career high.
The Tigers gave PhilaU all they could handle in the first half,
starting the game on an 8-0 run and leading for the entire 20
minutes. PhilaU closed the gap as senior guard Mike
Dunn (Harrisburg, PA/ Central Dauphin) knocked down a
three at 4:58 remaining in the first to get the Rams within two
(24-22) and junior guard Marcus Lemon (Alexandria,
VA/ T.C. Williams) hit a jumper to tie it 30-30 at 1:30.
The Tigers clawed their way to a 35-30 lead at halftime.
The Rams shot 55% from field goal range in the second half as a
Frederick layup gave PhilaU a 41-40 lead at 16:25 that they
would not relinquish. The maroon and gray led by as many as
22 points when time ran out, taking their sixth straight win.
PhilaU's Dunn had 14 points on the afternoon, while Lemon
finished with 18 points, five boards and seven
assists.
HFU's Ceazer Johnson led the Tigers with 20 points and nine
rebounds.
The Rams pick up at the District of Columbia on Wednesday,
January 27th on the road at 7:00 p.m.
