Philadelphia, PA- The
Philadelphia University women's soccer team (8-2-3, 6-0 CACC)
experienced a rare defeat in a 3-0 loss to the Kutztown University
Golden Bears (9-2-1, 6-1-1 PSAC) on Tuesday.
Kutztown struck at the 11:56 mark of the first period on an
unassisted goal by Molly Cooper to take a 1-0 lead.
With just under four minutes into the second period, KU's
Stephanie Barnett scored an assisted goal by Raven Chiara to give
Kutztown a 2-0 advantage. KU's Chelssa Bressler added a goal later
in the period.
The Lady Rams were out outshot 16-7 by the Golden
Bears.
PhilaU freshman Melissa Copeland (Islip
Terrace/East Islip) and sophomore Kristen McKale
(Huntington Valley/Lower Moreland) each had two shots for the Lady
Rams.
The maroon and gray return to action on Saturday (10/10) for a
CACC match at Caldwell College. Starting time is set for 12:00 p.m.
