Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University
volleyball team (29-5, 16-2 CACC) took exactly one hour to tear up
Chestnut Hill College (5-24, 1-16 CACC) in a 3-0 match on Monday
evening. Senior middle-hitter Molly Malone
(Rochester, NY/ Gates Chili) earned her 500th career
block in the win, racking up three blocks along with nine kills and
two digs.
Set scores were 25-18, 25-12 and 25-20.
The Lady Rams are now just one win away from a 30-win season.
Freshman middle-hitter Ellie Edgar (Cuyahoga
Falls, OH/ Cuyahoga Falls) led all players with 10 kills along with
two blocks and a dig, while freshman Mary Mancuso
(Granby, MA/ Holyoke Catholic) recorded 10 digs and three service
aces for the Lady Rams.
CHC's Cassie Benson led her squad with six kills for a .091
attack percentage.
PhilaU junior setter Lauren Hoover (New
Baltimore, MI/ Anchor Bay) tallied 20 set assists and six digs on
the night.
The Lady Rams host their final regular season match this
Saturday (11/7) at 2:00 p.m. vs. Nyack College at the Gallagher
Athletic Center before hosting a CACC Quarterfinal match on Tuesday
(11/10) at 7:00 p.m.
