Box Score Millersville, PA- The Philadelphia University
Rams (5-2, 1-0 CACC) saw three starters score in double digits as
they picked up a road win 69-52 at Millersville (3-1) on
Saturday. PhilaU senior guard Russell
Frederick (Baltimore, MD/ Calvert Hall) led all scorers
with 24 points and added three rebounds and seven steals in the
win.
The Rams shot 50% from the floor for the game, including 70% in
the second half to MU's 33%.
PhilaU led by no more than one point in the first half, as two
good free throws by freshman guard Ed DiRugeris
(Plymouth Meeting, PA/ Pennsbury) that gave the maroon and grey a
26-25 tally at the half. DiRugeris finished the night with 12
points and two assists.
In round two, Ram senior forward Malcolm Ingram
(Philadelphia, PA/ Solebury Prep) started off with two makes at the
charity stripe to give PhilaU a 28-25 lead, and the squad would
finish the night tied for their biggest lead at 17 on two more
DiRugeris foul shots to make the final 69-52. Ingram finished
with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
PhilaU senior forward Mike Yocum (Dresher, PA/
Episcopal Academy) added nine points and four boards in the win,
while MU was led with 10 points each from Nigel Davis and Brandon
Widener.
The Rams return to action on Monday (11/30) at Lock Haven at
7:00 p.m. in a non-conference game.
