Rams Dominate Second Half in 70-62 Win at Holy Family

Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University Rams (21-5, 18-2 CACC) got a big 70-62 CACC win on the road vs. Holy Family University (8-19, 7-9 CACC) on Tuesday night to get one step closer to finalizing their regular-season schedule.  Junior forward Malcolm Ingram (Philadelphia, PA/ Solebury Prep) led all scorers with 25 points, six rebounds and three steals.

The Rams kept the advantage by outshooting the Tigers (55%-46%), giving up less turnovers (10-14) and getting more steals (10-3).

There were 13 lead changes in the first half alone, but the Rams closed out the first stanza on a 9-3 run to take a 31-30 lead at the half on an Ingram layup.

A jumper by PhilaU junior forward Mike Yocum (Dresher, PA/ Episcopal Academy) opened up scoring in the second half at 33-30 (18:28).  Yocum finished the night with 14 points, nine boards and three steals.

The Rams would not give up the lead for the rest of the contest as junior guard Russell Frederick (Baltimore, MD/ Calvert Hall) had 13 points and five assists on the night, including the front end of two foul shots with just nine seconds remaining in regulation. 

PhilaU will close out the regular season on Friday (2/27) at Caldwell for a 7 p.m. tipoff.  The Rams will host their CACC quarterfinal game on Tuesday (3/3) at 7 p.m. vs. Chestnut Hill.
