Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University
women's soccer team (4-3-3, 4-1 CACC) scored a team-high seven
goals in ousting the Post University Eagles (0-11, 0-5 CACC) 7-0 on
Saturday afternoon at Ravenhill Field at PhilaU's Homecoming
2010.
Two freshmen, forward Janine
Cascio and midfielder Nicole Van
Bourgondien led the squad with two goals
apiece.
PhilaU got their first goal from Cascio at 16:39, assisted by
sophomore midfielder Maura
Kasierski off a direct kick.
The Rams added another point at 27:59 from junior
forward Gabrielle Haden who found the
net and then Van Bourgondien knocked in her first collegiate goal
at 36:48 to carry a 3-0 lead into halftime.
In the second half, PhilaU sophomore midfielder Jessica
Stec waited just 29 seconds to add to the Ram's
advantage, then at 46:36 Van Bourgondien tallied another goal to
put the home squad up 5-0.
Cascio scored her second goal in the 70th minute,
followed by senior midfielder Natalie
Vespe- who knocked in the Ram's final goal to make it
official at 7-0.
PhilaU sophomore keeper Kelli
Kowalewski played 45 minutes for the Rams, while
junior goalie Rebecca Della
Peruta came in for the second half.
The Rams return to action at home on Thursday (10/7) at 4:30
p.m. vs. Chestnut Hill College.
