West Chester, PA- The Philadelphia University
women's soccer team (9-4-3, 9-2 CACC) saw their five-game winning
streak come to an end in a 3-0 loss at West Chester University
(14-1) on Tuesday evening.
All three of WCU's goals came in the first half, the game-winner
by Sarah Oswald just 1:16 into regulation. Kim Shoup (32:16)
and Jessica Bennett (44:45) chipped in the other two scores.
PhilaU sophomore keeper Kelli
Kowalewski had four saves in 74 minutes, while junior
goalie Rebecca
Della Peruta came in for the final 15 minutes.
WCU's Lyndsie Bernardini made three stops for the Rams.
PhilaU will now play their final regular season game on the road
this Thursday (10/28) at Holy Family University at 4:00 p.m.,
before opening CACC playoffs with a quarterfinal game on Monday
(11/1) with a TBD location and opponent at 2:00 p.m.
