Philadelphia, PA – #2 Philadelphia University volleyball (19-8, 16-3 CACC) held out in three close sets to top #3 Wilmington (22-12, 14-5 CACC) 3-0. The Wildcats fought hard scoring 19 or more points in each match, but the Rams came out on top each time to advance to the CACC Semifinals. 17 kills were delivered by the rookie outside-hitter Leanna Lillge along with 19 digs.
Set scores were: 26-24, 25-23 and 25-19.
Sophomore outside-hitter Danielle Carney was key in the match totaling 14 kills, 20 digs and two service aces. Junior setter Adrienne Stigura led the team in sets with 18 while senior setter Lauren Hoover was right behind her with 17. The game winning shot came off a hit from freshman middle-hitter Jordan Milligan who had five kills for the evening.
Wilmington had a number of key players including Nicole Wiechecki and Brittany Biddle who each added 10 kills for their squad.
The Philadelphia University Rams will meet #1N Caldwell in the CACC Semifinals on Friday (11/12) at 5:30 p.m. Both the CACC Semifinals and Finals will be hosted at Georgian Court University in Lakewood, NJ.
