Philadelphia, PA- Five different Philadelphia
University women's soccer players scored in an eventful 5-1 victory
over the Felician College Golden Falcons (3-4, 2-2 CACC) on
Saturday afternoon.
The match was full of offensive runs, as PhilaU outshot the
Falcons 28-7.
PhilaU sophomore midfielder Melissa
Copeland scored just two minutes into the first half
to give the her squad a 1-0 lead and sophomore defender Chelsea
Riedell scored the eventual game-winner at 43:06
unassisted.
In the second half, junior forward Kristen
McKale scored at 66:49, but at 77:16 FC's Emily Gleason
got her team's only goal of the day.
PhilaU freshman forward Janine
Cascio scored at 83:47 and junior forward Gabrielle
Haden netted the Ram's final goal at 86:45.
PhilaU sophomore goalie Kelli
Kowalewski made two saves in 68 minutes, while junior
keeper Rebecca Della
Peruta made two stops in 21 minutes of action.
FC's Shaneil Lorenzo and Allie Couzo combined for 14 saves for the
Falcons.
The Rams return head back to the pitch on Tuesday (9/28) at
Wilmington for a 1:30 p.m. start.
