Box Score Garden City, NY- The Philadelphia women's soccer team (1-1) dropped a non-conference away game at Adelphi University (1-0) on Saturday evening.
PhilaU went into a hole early at 2-0 as AU scored just two minutes in (Kaitlin Monteith) and at 9:54 (Danielle Bottaro). The Rams remained scoreless going into halftime.
PhilaU sophomore forward Kristen Ferguson broke the Rams drought at 51:21 unassisted, but that would be as close as PhilaU could get. AU added one more goal in the 82nd minute as the final read AU 3, PhilaU 1.
In goal, PhilaU junior keeper Kelli Kowalewski had four saves and AU goalie Dorothy Connolly made five stops for the Panthers.
The Rams continue their season on Wednesday (9/7) at Goldey-Beacom in their first CACC contest of the year.
