Box Score PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia University women's volleyball team suffered a tough 3-2 loss to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent University of the Sciences Tuesday night in Bobby Morgan Arena.
The Lady Rams are now 16-8 overall and 10-5 in the CACC, while the Devils improve to 14-12 overall and 8-7 against the conference.
After dropping the first set 25-20, Philadelphia rebounded to take sets two and three, 26-24 and 25-10. The Devils came back to win the last two sets, 25-18 and 15-13, and take the match.
Danielle Carney led the way for Philadelphia with a match-high 22 kills and 11 digs. For the match, Carney had a hitting percentage of .373 (22 kills-3 errors-51 attacks). Brittany Olson had a 19-kill, 18-dig evening, while Ellie Edgar posted 10 kills. Heather Martin contributed 29 assists and 12 digs. Allyson Schillinger recorded 23 assists and 16 digs. Morgan McCarthy paced the defense with 20 digs.
The Devils got 15 kills from Caitlyn Crawford, and another 13 from Desirae Lair. Kalieen Bevenour had 45 assists and 17 digs. Stacey Wooden recorded a match-best 24 digs.
Philadelphia outhit USciences .220 (62-21-186) to .147 (53-26-184).The Devils barely had more digs, 94-93.
The Lady Rams return to action with a CACC match at Chestnut Hill on Friday, Oct. 26 at 5 p.m.
