Box Score CALDWELL, N.J. – The Philadelphia University women's volleyball team was defeated by host Caldwell, 3-1, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match Saturday afternoon in the Newman Center.
The Lady Rams are now 10-6 overall and 6-3 in CACC play. Caldwell improves to 13-9 overall and 6-2 against the conference. The set scores of the match were 19-25, 27-25, 25-14, 25-20.
Outside hitter Terra Ecker led the Philadelphia offense with 14 kills. Outside hitter Danielle Carney recorded nine kills and 22 digs. Middle hitter Chelsea Hughes also had nine kills along with five total blocks (two solo blocks and three block assists).
Setter Heather Martin recorded a double-double with 22 assists and 16 digs. Fellow setter Allyson Schillinger tallied 15 assists.
Libero Morgan McCarthy posted 22 digs, while outside hitter Brittany Olson had 13.
Rachael DiLeonardo, Susan McDonough, and Lisa Roth all had double-doubles for the Cougars. DiLeonardo recorded 15 kills and 18 digs, McDonough tallied 12 kills and 18 digs, and Roth contributed 48 assists and 12 digs. Kelsey Blankerts had 10 kills, while Jaclyn Del Cid had 23 digs.
Philadelphia returns home for a doubleheader against the University of the Sciences and East Stroudsburg on Tuesday, Oct. 9 starting at 6 p.m.
