Lady Rams solid in 3-0 sweep of Cairn

LANGHORNE, Pa. – The Philadelphia University women's volleyball team defeated host Cairn University, 3-0, in a non-conference match Tuesday night in the Mason Activity Center.

Philadelphia improves to 6-3 overall, while Cairn drops to 7-5.

Middle hitter Ellie Edgar led the Lady Ram attack with eight kills and five total blocks (one solo, four assists). Outside hitters Brittany Olson and Danielle Carney each pitched in with seven kills. Olson ended the match with an attack percentage of .429 (seven kills-one error-14 attacks).

Setters Allyson Schillinger and Nina Morvin helped out the offense with 20 and 14 assists, respectively. Defensively, libero Morgan McCarthy and Carney had nine digs. Outside hitter Allison Manley contributed eight digs.

Abbie Keating and Brigid Shehan led the Highlanders' attack with six kills each. Emily Mayer added five kills. Erin Greenwood recorded 22 assists. Ashleigh Colomina had 13 digs, while Keating added 10.

The Lady Rams return to the Gallagher Center to take on Bloomfield in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match on Saturday, Sept. 22 at noon.
