PHILADELPHIA –The Philadelphia University women's cross country team won its first Jack St. Clair Memorial Championship Saturday afternoon at Belmont Plateau.
The Rams—who won two weeks ago at Belmont Plateau in the Philadelphia Metropolitan Championship—claimed victory on Saturday with a team score of 41 points, 37 points ahead of runner-up Georgetown Running Club.
Junior Taylor Falvey (York, Pa./York Catholic) was the first collegiate runner, third overall, to cross the finish line as she completed the 6-kilometer course in a time of 24 minutes, 22 seconds.
Senior Chelsea Attaway (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) earned a spot in the top-five with a fifth-place time of 25:33. Freshman Jessica Thies (Reading, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) rounded out the top-10 by crossing the finish line in 26:08.
Freshman Kaitlyn Beckham (Gettysburg, Pa./Fairfield Area) posted a 26:24 to take the 13th spot. Sophomore Emilie Barton (Sterling, Ill./Newman Central Catholic) claimed the last scoring spot with the 23rd-place time of 27:01.
Sophomore Courtney Lafferty (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Athena) secured the 30th position by traversing the course in 27:38. Freshman Victoria Frisbie (Landsale, Pa./North Penn) finished 46th with a time of 28:59.
Sophomore Clarissa Kelsey (Columbus, N.J./Northern Burlington) owned the 52nd spot with a time of 29:26, while sophomore Stephanie Watson (Newport, Vt./North Country Union) recorded a 30:06 to take 55th.
Junior Meghan Ford (Leonia, N.J./Leonia) completed Philadelphia's line-up with the 67th-place time of 31:52.
Philadelphia's next race is the Collegiate Track Conference Championship that will take place on Saturday, Oct. 19.
