Box Score LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The Philadelphia University women's volleyball team's 2013 season came to a close with a 3-2 loss (21-25, 25-20, 25-20, 21-25, 15-17) to host Georgian Court in the championship match of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament Saturday afternoon at the GCU Wellness Center.
Philadelphia ends the season with a 20-9 overall record. The Rams earned a share of the southern division title, reached the program's fourth CACC championship match, and at least 20 wins for the seventh time under head coach Mark Magarity.
Georgian Court improves to 20-12 overall and received the CACC's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
Senior outside hitter Brittany Olson (Sycamore, Ill./Sycamore) and sophomore middle hitter Chelsea Hughes (Wading River, N.Y./Shoreham-Wading River) both had 13 kills for the Rams in the loss. Sophomore outside hitter Allison Manley (Saint Charles, Ill./Saint Charles E.) added nine kills and nine digs.
Sophomore setter Allyson Schillinger (Spring Hill, Fla./Springstead) tallied 17 assists, while senior libero Morgan McCarthy (Beaver, Pa./South Side) had a team-high 13 digs.
Tatiana Villariny recorded a match-best 27 kills for the Lions. Jaslene Lopez racked up 55 assists and Francheska Cedres had 15 digs.
