Box Score

PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia University women's soccer team was defeated by visiting West Chester, 1-0, in a non-conference match Saturday afternoon on Ravenhill Field.

The deciding goal came at the 30:22 mark on a free kick taken by West Chester's Dana Hunt just outside the Philadelphia (0-5-0) penalty area. Hunt lined a shot over a three-person wall and under the crossbar for the score.

The match was a defensive battle as both teams struggled to get shots at the net. West Chester (5-3-0) ended the afternoon with a slim 6-5 shot advantage.

Sophomore goalkeeper Courtney Shaw (Langhorne, Pa./Villa Joseph Marie) made two saves in a losing effort for the Rams. West Chester's Alex Srolis stopped one shot.
