Women's volleyball sweeps Dominican (N.Y.) 3-0

PHILADELPHIA – Outside hitter Erin Lyman (Algonquin, Ill./Huntley) recorded a match-high 11 kills as the Philadelphia University women's volleyball team knocked off Dominican (N.Y.) 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-23) in a Homecoming Day Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match Saturday afternoon in the Gallagher Center.

Philadelphia improves to 8-10 overall and 6-3 against the CACC, while Dominican falls to 9-4 overall, 6-4 in conference play.

Middle hitter Terra Ecker (Chapel Hill, N.C./Chapel Hill East) recorded six kills, four assists, and two blocks assists in the win for the Rams (8-10, 6-3 CACC). Libero Michele Chai (Sinking Spring, Pa./Berks Catholic) had a match-high 19 digs, while outside hitter Allison Manley (Saint Charles, Ill./Saint Charles East) contributed four kills, two service aces, and 10 digs.

The Chargers' McKenzie John had 10 kills and 16 digs in a losing effort.

Philadelphia hosts USciences in a CACC match on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 6 p.m.
