Box Score PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia University women's volleyball team was defeated by the University of the Sciences 3-2 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match Friday night in Bobby Morgan Arena.
The Devils (6-15, 3-13 CACC) opened the match with a 25-18 set one victory. Philadelphia (13-13, 10-6 CACC) came back to win the next two sets 25-21 and 25-19. USciences claimed the match by winning set four 25-22 and the deciding set 16-14.
Allison Manley (Saint Charles, Ill./Saint Charles East) and Erin Lyman (Algonquin, Ill./Huntley) each recorded double-doubles for the Rams. Manley had 12 kills and 20 digs, while Lyman contributed 12 kills and 12 digs.
Chelsea Hughes (Wading River, N.Y./Shoreham-Wading River) added 12 kills and Terra Ecker (Chapel Hill, N.C./East Chapel Hill) and Corinne Justus (Allentown, Pa./Emmaus) had 10 kills each.
Nina Morvin (Willow Grove, Pa./St. Basil's Academy) tallied a team-high 31 assists. Michele Chai (Sinking Spring, Pa./Berks Catholic) racked up a season-high 32 digs.
The Devils were led by Caitlyn Crawford's 19 kills and Kaileen Bevenour's 48 assists.
Philadelphia heads to Caldwell for a CACC match on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 1 p.m.
