Box Score LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The Philadelphia University women's volleyball team ended the regular season with a 20-25, 25-27, 25-23, 22-25 loss to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent Georgian Court Saturday afternoon in the GCU Wellness Center.
Philadelphia—who had its six-match winning streak snapped—finished the regular season with a 20-6 overall record and a southern division-best mark of 16-3. The Rams are the southern division champion and will host Dominican (N.Y.), the fourth-seed from the north, in the first round of the CACC Tournament on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. in the Gallagher Center.
Georgian Court improves to 20-14 overall, 13-6 against the conference.
Chelsea Hughes (Wading River, N.Y./Shoreham-Wading River) led the Rams with 16 kills and a .342 hitting percentage. Courtney Wensel (Bechtelsville, Pa./Berks Catholic) added 12 kills and a team-high 15 digs to record her 10th double-double of 2015. Allison Manley (Saint Charles, Ill./Saint Charles East) had eight kills and 14 digs. Nina Morvin (Willow Grove, Pa./Saint Basil Academy) racked up 27 assists.
Leading the Lions was Taylor Winchester with 19 kills and 19 digs, both match highs. Melanee Coleman had 10 kills. Kelsey Oliver added 42 assists and 12 digs.
Philadelphia hit .190 in the match, while Georgian Court had a .260 hitting percentage. In the final set, the Lions had 15 kills without an error to hit .517.
