PHILADELPHIA - The Thomas Jefferson University men's basketball team (1-1) suffered its first loss of the season on Sunday, dropping an 84-66 decision to Franklin Pierce in the East Region Challenge at the Gallagher Center.

GAMEPLAY
The teams went back and forth over the opening 10 minutes with the margin never eclipsing four points. The Ravens trailed by two (17-15) with 9:42 on the clock but the Rams surged forward with an 8-2 run to go ahead by eight (25-17). Jefferson led by seven (29-22) with 2:59 to go but Franklin Pierce finished the half with seven of the last nine points to cut the deficit to two (31-29) at the half.

The Ravens carried the momentum into the second half, starting the period with a 17-5 run to gain the lead, 46-36. The Rams closed the gap to five (46-41) but FPU followed with nine of the next 11 to increase the margin to 12 (55-43) with 9:50 remaining. Jefferson was never able to get back within single digits and the Ravens led by as many as 20 on the way to the win.
