LAKEWOOD, N.J. - The Thomas Jefferson University volleyball team (21-4, 12-4 CACC) picked up an important road victory on Thursday evening, taking a 3-1 decision at Georgian Court.

GAMEPLAY
The teams were even at three early in the opening set then the Rams posted three in a row to take the lead. Jefferson built the advantage up to eight (22-14) but the Lions rallied for 11 of the final 12 points to stun the Rams and win the frame 25-23.

In the second, Georgian Court held a narrow 8-7 edge. The Rams followed with five of the next six to go in front 12-9. It was still a three-point margin at 19-16 but Jefferson closed the set with six straight points for a 25-16 victory.

The two sides were tied at three in the third before the Rams went on a 6-2 run. Jefferson was able to increase the margin to six (19-13). The Lions cut the deficit to two (19-17) but it was the closest they would get as the Rams tallied six of the next eight to take the stanza 25-19.

In the final set, the score was deadlocked at 13 apiece. Jefferson then took over with a 7-1 surge to make it 20-14. GCU was only able to close the gap to four (21-17) before the Rams posted four of five to clinch the match with a 25-18 win.

CACC PLAYOFF PICTURE
With two regular season matches remaining, the Rams currently reside in third place in the CACC South Division. Jefferson sits one game back of Wilmington (Del.) in the loss column as the Wildcats have three matches to play. The top two teams in the division earn the right to host a quarterfinal match in the conference tournament.
