PHILADELPHIA - Alex Gonzalez hit a two-out, two-run triple to put the Thomas Jefferson University baseball team in front in the bottom of the eighth inning and the Rams swept the season series against Wilmington (Del.) with an 8-6 win on Tuesday. Jefferson is 17-9 on the season with a 14-6 CACC record.

GAMEPLAY
The Rams got things going with two runs in the opening frame.
Richard Joa scored on an error and
Efrain Santiago smacked an RBI triple. The Wildcats cut the deficit to one in the third with an RBI double.

The score remained 2-1 until the sixth when Wilmington scored twice to take the lead. The Wildcats led off the inning with a homer and went ahead on an RBI double. However, Jefferson responded with three runs in the bottom half.
Joe Cencetti drew a bases-loaded walk,
Ryan Sawyer scored on an error, and
Zack Austin singled in a run.

Wilmington quickly tallied three runs of its own in the top of the seventh to take a 6-5 advantage. The Wildcats benefitted from an RBI single, a balk that brought home a run, and a run-scoring double.

In the bottom of the eighth, Santiago led off with a single through the left side. After advancing to second on a sacrifice bunt, Santiago scored on a triple by Austin to tie the game. Following a strikeout,
Dylan Rees walked to put runners on the corners.
Alex Gonzalez then laced a two-run triple to right center to give the Rams an 8-6 lead.
Matt Bukavich retired the Wildcats in order in the ninth and earned the win.
