PHILADELPHIA – The Thomas Jefferson University baseball team put up another offensive display on Wednesday, recording a 15-1 victory at USciences. The Rams are 18-9 on the year with a 15-6 conference mark.
GAMEPLAY
Efrain Santiago put Jefferson on the board in the second, leading off the frame with a home run. The Rams made it 4-0 in the third when
Zack Austin cleared the bases with a two-out triple.
Jefferson broke it open with an 11-run fourth inning. The first eight batters in the frame reached base and the Rams sent 15 men to the plate overall.
Ryan Sawyer highlighted the rally with a three-run homer.
Meanwhile, Austin was dominant on the mound, tossing five scoreless innings and allowing just three hits. He did not issue a walk and struck out eight. The Devils were able to push across a run against the Jefferson bullpen in the sixth on a fielder's choice. The contest ended after seven innings due to the conference mercy rule.
