Baseball's Win Streak Ends Versus Shippensburg

PHILADELPHIA – The Thomas Jefferson University baseball team had its three-game win streak snapped with a pair of losses to visiting Shippensburg on Friday. The Rams are 7-4 on the season.
 
GAME ONE – L, 4-2
The Rams got on the board early with a pair of runs in the opening frame. Alex Gonzalez scored on a groundout by Richard Joa and Efrain Santiago followed with a sacrifice fly to plate Arturo Figueroa. In the second, Jefferson starter Jem Sisco allowed the first two men to reach but got out of the jam with a double play ball and a strikeout.
 
The Raiders cut the deficit to one in the fourth with a RBI double. Shippensburg then took the lead with a three-run fifth on two RBI singles and a wild pitch. The Rams put the tying run on base in the sixth but could not manufacture any more runs.

The Raiders struck quickly with three runs in the first and went on to score one in the second, three in the third, three in the fourth, two in the fifth, one in the sixth, and one in the seventh. Jefferson's offense could not get it going, recording just three hits.
