PHILADELPHIA - Richard Joa hit for the cycle and drove in six runs to lead the Thomas Jefferson University baseball team to a 24-12 victory against Chestnut Hill on Thursday afternoon. The Rams improved to 8-4 overall and 5-1 in the CACC.

GAMEPLAY
Jefferson wasted little time offensively, putting up a nine-spot in the first inning. The first two batters reached and Joa blasted a three-run homer to right field for his first hit. Joa came up again in the frame and sent a RBI single to left. Other highlights in the first included a two-run triple by
Arturo Figueroa and a RBI double by
Dylan Rees.

The Rams made it 12-0 in the second.
Joe Cencetti tripled in a run, Rees had a sacrifice fly, and
Alex Gonzalez homered to left. The Griffins plated a run in the third but Jefferson added two in the inning as Zach Austin doubled home
Efrain Santiago and scored on a wild pitch.

After Chestnut Hill scored twice in the top of the fourth, Jefferson added four in its half. Santiago singled in two and
Ryan Sawyer smacked a two-run shot to left. The Griffins made the score 18-4 in the fifth before the Rams scored three times.
Ryan Coyle homered to left center and Joa followed with a double to right center for his third hit of the day. Santiago followed with another home run to make it 21-4.

Chestnut Hill posted eight runs in the sixth and it was 21-12. In the bottom of the inning, Joa hit a two-run triple to center to finish off the cycle before scoring on an error, making the score 24-12. Jefferson finished off the win in seven innings due to the conference's 10-run rule.
