PHILADELPHIA - Chestnut Hill scored the equalizer with 3:11 remaining in regulation and neither team scored in overtime as the Thomas Jefferson University men's soccer team (1-1-1) played the visiting Griffins to a 1-1 draw in the Rams' home and conference opener on Saturday afternoon.

GAMEPLAY
Chestnut Hill recorded the opening shot of the contest and it was stopped by Jefferson goalkeeper Matteo Crescente. The Rams followed with their first shot and made it count to take a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute. Jefferson was awarded a throw-in on the left side of the field. Geoffrey Little made a long throw into the right side of the box and Gabe Paz put his head on it and sent the ball into the goal.

The Rams had the better of play throughout the remainder of the first half, outshooting the Griffins 6-3, but could not increase their advantage. Jefferson came up with the first three shots of the second period but could not find the back of the net. Chestnut Hill had an opportunity to tie in the 62nd minute but the shot was blocked away on the goal line by a Rams' defender.
