PHILADELPHIA - The Thomas Jefferson University volleyball team increased its season-opening win streak to five with a 3-0 sweep of Millersville in the Rams' home opener on Wednesday evening.

GAMEPLAY
Jefferson started the match strong with 11 of the opening 15 points. With the score 12-7, the Rams pulled away further with four in a row. The Marauders had a late rally to close to within three (23-20) but Jefferson posted two of the next three points to win the set 25-21.

In the second, Millersville was ahead 6-5 before the Rams took over with an 8-2 run. It was a five-point difference again at 18-13 but the home team surged ahead to win the set 25-14 with a 7-1 rally.

Jefferson continued its dominance in the third, jumping out to a 9-1 lead. The visitors fought back to get within three (9-6) but the Rams responded with nine of the next 10 points to make it 18-7. Millersville would only get as close as six the rest of the way as Jefferson took the stanza 25-18 to clinch the match.
