PHILADELPHIA – The Thomas Jefferson University women's soccer team (9-3-1, 7-0-1 CACC) netted four first-half goals and cruised to a 5-0 victory over visiting Georgian Court (3-5-6, 2-3-4 CACC) on Tuesday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rams struck quickly, taking a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute.
Carly Yeager sent the ball forward to
Nikki Dedes, who was able to get it over to the front of the goal for
Laural Erick. Erick beat the goalkeeper for her fourth goal of the season. Dedes scored herself in the 19
th minute.
Devin Sullivan showed off some dazzling moves in dribbling through the Lions' defense then got the ball to Dedes for a tap-in.
Dedes picked up her second of the afternoon on a penalty kick in the 30
th minute to make it 3-0. Jefferson's final goal of the half came in the 37
th minute. Dedes found
Avery Nogami in the box, who quickly tapped it with her heel to
Abby Cargile for a shot into the back of the net. The Rams' marker in the second period came on an own goal in the 53
rd minute.

CACC PLAYOFF PICTURE
The Rams officially locked up a CACC playoff spot on Tuesday and they have four games remaining in the regular season. Jefferson currently sits in second place with 22 points, one point behind Bridgeport who has played one more game than the Rams. The top four teams will host a quarterfinal game on Monday, October 31.
