PHILADELPHIA – The Thomas Jefferson University volleyball team (19-6, 13-2 CACC) cruised to a 3-0 victory over visiting Alliance (2-26, 0-16 CACC) on Saturday afternoon to run its win streak to seven matches.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The teams were even at two in the opening set before the Rams tallied four in a row to take the lead. Alliance fought its way back and evened the score at nine apiece. With the sides level at 10, Jefferson exploded for 15 of the next 18 points to win the set 25-13.
The Rams opened the second with 16 of the first 19 points, including nine straight at one point. Alliance rallied for six of the next seven to get within eight (17-9) but Jefferson doubled the visitors up the rest of the way and earned a 25-13 victory.
In the third, the Rams continued their momentum and got out to an 11-2 advantage. Jefferson wore down Alliance and clinched the match with a 25-10 triumph.
